The Nintendo Switch has now been out for five years and has an impressive library of games. With its portability, the Nintendo Switch offers a versatile way to enjoy gaming. Here are some titles that I think would be a great addition the the library and could gain new fans if released on the Switch.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
I still remember the moment watching Nintendo Direct on 17 February 2021 where it was revealed a Zelda game was getting remastered on Switch. It was Skyward Sword. I was gutted, I really wanted it to be Twilight Princess. Skyward Sword is by no means a bad game, but Twilight Princess holds a special place in my heart. I love its dark tone and story. I love travelling around Hyrule, there’s so much character to each location. Twilight Princess also has one of the best companions- Midna. I know plenty of Zelda fans would be ecstatic to be able to play Twilight Princess on Switch. And even those who may not like this one should give it another chance.
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Mario Galaxy is my favourite Mario game ever and the sequel is brilliant too. It’s baffling that the first game was released on Switch but not the second one. Maybe Nintendo just wanted a neater package for the 3D All Stars compilation, it can only have three games. But to me Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are a package deal, you can’t have one without the other.
Bully
It’s hard for me to say it but, there’s not going to be a Bully 2. It’s just not going to happen right? But why not then give new life to the original by releasing it on the Switch. You can play LA Noire and the 3D GTA trilogy on Switch, Bully will be right at home amongst these. Bully also in my view holds up really well and needs to be recognised as one of Rockstar’s best games.
Persona 5
This is an interesting one because as I write this there is ongoing speculation that Persona 5 will be making its way to the Switch. It’s been announced for Xbox and PC. And it belongs on the Switch. No really, just imagine playing Persona 5 on THE SWITCH. Person 5 along with it’s enhanced follow up Persona 5 Royal is one of the best games ever made, with it’s polished presentation and gameplay as well as excellent story and characters. Everyone should be able to play it.
Ace Attorney Investigations 1 and 2
Miles Edgeworth getting his own game was an exciting time for the Ace Attorney fandom. It even got a sequel. But the second instalment to this day has not been localised. Considering that the Great Ace Attorney games were recently localised and the original trilogy has been ported to every device imaginable, surely there’s some way to bring the AAI games to Switch? The amount of popularity Miles Edgeworth as a supporting character is sky high, and I am so intrigued to see his story continue especially as the second game features more background on Mile’s father Gregory Edgeworth who there’s not much to other than being murked by Manfred Von Karma. Really I just can’t accept that’s there’s a whole Ace Attorney game just out there that I have yet to play.
